Small chocolate rolls
Set-up and preparation: approx. 30 mins
Rising time: approx. 2 hours
Oven cooking time: approx. 20 mins
- Mix the flour, salt, sugar and yeast in a large bowl. Add the butter and the diluted milk, mix and knead into a smooth, elastic dough. Add the hazelnuts while kneading, cover and leave to rise to double the volume, for approx. 1½ hours at room temperature.
- Divide the dough into 4 sections, and flatten a little. Put 1 bar of chocolate in the middle of each piece of pastry, and roll it up in the pastry, to create the petit pains.
- Mix the hazelnuts and the sugar on a plate. Glaze the petit pains with egg white, dip them in the hazelnut sugar, and put them on a tray lined with baking paper. Leave to rise for approx. another 30 minutes.
- Cooking time: 20 mins in the middle of an oven preheated to 200 °C.
Suggestion: replace the hazelnuts with almonds.
